The new Facebook Phone

Facebook is heading on a new venture. The world’s largest social networking website is all set to join the list of mobile manufacturers.

Though, nothing is confirmed as yet, still the sources have predicted that Facebook might come out with a new facebook phone.

Mobile users may be in for a surprise anytime sooner, as markets may get flooded with a low cost mobile Facebook phone.

There could be two aspects to the whole story. Either, the social networking site is building a facebook phone all by itself, or there could outside parties’ involved who are collaborating with Facebook to build mobile facebook phone software.

The story has gained momentum as Mathew Papakipos left Google Chrome and joined Facebook.

Mathew Papakipos has years of experience in the field of operating system. He was looking after the OS project at Google Chrome, and when a person from an OS background joins a social networking site, few questions do pop up.

He is one person who would be able to provide a lot of inputs to make a facebook phone.

Facebook seems to be following Google’s way, but if they do come with a facebook phone, it won’t be an expensive phone, like a Google nexus one, but a low cost phone, as Facebook would be looking to cash the long list of social following it has in the market.
