Popular Retirement Destinations for Senior Citizens in the US

Retirement is a unique time of life that requires thought and planning. Individual tastes and needs must be considered when choosing the right city for your retirement. Factors such as cost, entertainment venues and availability of medical care can all play a part in the decision. A number of retirement destinations around the Unities States have the right mix of qualities that make them popular. 



Albuquerque, New Mexico

Albuquerque offers many of the features that retirees require. Located amidst the Sandia Mountains, the city is one of the fastest growing areas in the country. Housing is reasonable; the city offers beautiful scenery and many outdoor activities. Home of the University of New Mexico, it also offers educational and cultural opportunities for seniors. Winter temperatures are generally mild and snowfall melts by mid-day. 

Charleston, South Carolina

Charleston has become one of the most popular retirement destinations in recent years. The mild climate, history, educational opportunities, symphony, art festivals and a variety of special events, Charleston provides stimulating activities for people of all tastes. Charleston is a walk able city with many avenues for dining, shopping and entertainment. 

Colorado Springs, Colorado
